Spring Carnival 1983

This is a recording of a production segment my friends Jim, Paul, Bill and I put together on the eve of Spring Carnival, 1983: an annual party held at the University of Lowell.  We were the staff of WJUL, Lowell 91.5 FM “Real Underground Radio”, and this segment was produced in an all night session with the hopes that we could drink beer all day and celebrate the coming of Spring.

Rita, if you listen to this: I apologize for everything you went through!  Sign up for lots of things.

Be Happy

Tonight I’m going to attend, what is very likely to be, the very last game ever, of my Worcester Tornadoes.  The night will be bittersweet, but I will enjoy the moment and find happiness at the park.

Baseball means a lot to me.  It’s much more than just a game to me.  It’s a link to the past and happier days.  Everything comes to an end.

Don’t accept pain, fight it: overcome it.  That’s easy for me to say, but it’s what we are called to do.  Mental illness aside: I think there is something to be said for waking up every day and making a promise to yourself that today you’re going to live your life to the top.

Be Happy.
That's me, with the smile

Meeting Good Friends That I’ve Never Met

The single best reward for producing content in social “new” media is meeting good people from around the world.  Tonight I got to meet two friends who I have known since I first began producing Phedippidations.  It was an honor to spend time with my friends Gordon and Jo Scott.

Tasting the Vintages

After a great New England weekend my wife, stepson and I ventured to our favorite local vineyard to taste the latest releases.  Today I’ll talk about why tasting different vintages is important and how choosing a great wine to share with friends feels so good.

Addendum to Pod-Death

Yesterday I repeated my friend Adam Tinkoff’s declaration that “Podcasting is dead”, and while Jennifer was right that I knew this title would be controversial, it certainly generated an excellent conversation over on Facebook about The Future of social media and what’s NEXT!  (Hint: this is all GREAT news, and YOU are a huge part of it!)

Podcasting is DEAD

Today I echo the sentiments of my friend, Adam Tinkoff when I agree that:

 PODCASTING IS DEAD!

But that only begs the question: “What comes next?”

The Wine Chat Podcast 3

My pal Eric and I are tasting a Coteaux d’Ancenis Gamay Rose wine…and brilliant expression of Gamay from the Loire Valley in France.  On this weeks episode of The Wine Chat Podcast, Coach Jeff and I are talking about Vinification (wine making).  This week is part 1 of a two part series about the making of wine.
